The long-awaited project for quick transportation will be free for the first 6 months of operation, then move to rates of $2.50 a ride, and $5.00 a day. In addition to the reduced fair, the city has announced plans to give “Golden Ticket” cards to each of its first 500 guests. This card includes many discounts to local shops and restaurants.

Operating from 6 A.M. to Midnight the system is scheduled to have buses stop every 15 minutes. At 8 P.M is moves to one every half hour. The routes will run directly from St. Petersburg Beach to the Downtown Pier, with approximately 13 stops in between. Each bus is able to hold up to 46 passengers, the interiors will include free Wi-Fi and USB ports for cell phone charging.

This will be a completely cashless service with officials recommending passengers download the Flamingo Fares app which will allow them to auto load their account via credit card. A Flamingo Fares card is also offered, and passengers can tap their phone or card for expedited boarding
