Congratulations to the Tampa Bay Rays!

The Tampa Bay Rays have made the 2023 MLB playoffs! The MLB Playoffs begin on October 3rd 2023 starting with a Wild Card series of the Tampa Bay Rays facing off with the Texas Rangers. The Wild Card Series is a best-of-three game format, in which the first team to win two games will move on to the later rounds. The winner of this series will take on the Baltimore Orioles in the American League Divisional Series. Below is our summary of the Playoffs and the schedule of games to be played.

 

Playoff Format

Major League Baseball is made of two separate leagues: the American League, and the National League. The two sides essentially hold playoffs for their own teams, the two winners of these playoffs will face off in a best-of-seven game slate known as the World Series.

 Each Leagues Playoff contains three rounds of varying lengths. The MLB playoffs begin with a best-of-three game Wild Card Series. The winners of the Wild Card stage will go on to play in the best-of-five games Divisional Series. The first team to three wins in this stage will go on to the final best-of-seven game Championship Series. From there the American League Champion will meet the National League Champion for the final best-of-seven series.

After 162 Regular season games, the 2023 MLB playoff teams are: The Tampa Bay Rays, Texas Rangers, Toronto Blue Jays, Minnesota Twins, Baltimore Orioles, Houston Astros, Milwaukee Brewers, Arizona Diamondbacks, Philadelphia Phillies, Florida Marlins, Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves.
